Dubby For YouTube Dubbing Translate Videos: Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2, 2026
Dubby is a Chrome extension that dubs YouTube videos into the language you choose. This policy explains what data the extension uses and why.
What we process
- Video captions. When you turn dubbing on, the caption text of the video you are watching and the ID of that video are sent to our server so they can be translated and turned into speech.
- Install ID. A random identifier created by the extension. It is used to count your free videos per day and to link a purchase to your browser.
- IP address. Used only to enforce the daily free-video limit and to prevent abuse.
- Settings. Your language, voice, speed and subtitle choices are stored in your own browser (Chrome sync storage).
- Membership and payment. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe on Stripe's own pages; we never see or store your card details. We store the license key, its status and the email address Stripe gives us with the purchase.
Who processes the data
Our server runs on Cloudflare. Caption text is translated by Google (Gemini API) and converted to speech by Microsoft or Amazon text-to-speech services. These providers receive only the text needed to do this job.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent or share your data for advertising.
- We do not read your browsing history; the extension runs only on youtube.com.
- We do not use your data for anything other than providing the dubbing service and its free and paid plans.
Retention
The free-video counter is kept so the free allowance is not repeated. Cached data expires within 30 days. License records are kept while your license exists so you can keep using what you bought.
Your choices
You can stop all processing by turning dubbing off or uninstalling the extension. To ask for deletion of your license record or any question about this policy, write to supervibestorecontact@gmail.com.
